Location: Houston, TX Pay Rate: $18.50 per hour (Non-Exempt / Full-Time) All shift available Reports To: Site Supervisor and Account Manager

Position Summary

The Unarmed Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment at an active construction site in Houston, TX. This position plays a vital role in preventing theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access while ensuring compliance with Prosegur and client safety requirements. The Security Officer will conduct patrols, monitor entry points, observe for safety hazards, and report incidents in a professional and timely manner.

This role requires reliability, attention to detail, and strong customer service skills, with the ability to remain calm and professional in both routine and emergency situations.

Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Maintain a visible security presence to deter unsafe or unauthorized activity on the construction site.
  • Patrol designated areas on foot or by vehicle to monitor site safety, protect assets, and detect suspicious behavior.
  • Observe, document, and report incidents, hazards, or irregularities according to company and client procedures.
  • Control access to the site, verifying credentials and ensuring only authorized personnel and vehicles enter.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies, alarms, or incidents, following established protocols.
  • Enforce company and client rules, including safety regulations and access control procedures.
  • Provide assistance and directions to site personnel, visitors, or contractors as needed.
  • Complete accurate and detailed daily activity and incident reports.
  • Maintain professional appearance and conduct at all times in accordance with company standards.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure consistent site coverage.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Site Supervisor or Account Manager.
Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Must possess a current State of Texas Non-Commissioned Level II Unarmed Security License.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Prior security or customer service experience preferred (construction or industrial setting a plus).
  • Strong observational and communication skills.
  • Ability to complete accurate written reports and follow detailed instructions.
  • Must successfully complete a background check, drug screening, and motor vehicle record check.
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to remain professional, alert, and composed in high-pressure or emergency situations.
