PARK AND RECREATION SPECIALIST (PERMANENT INTERMITTENT ) / GOLD FIELDS DISTRICT / PRAIRIE CITY STATE VEHICULAR RECREATION AREA

The reporting location for this position is the Prairie Sector Office located in Rancho Cordova, CA.

Under the supervision of the Senior Park and Recreation Specialist (Prairie City Sector Manager). The position is responsible for the coordination of the Special Events Program. The Park and Recreation Specialist PI position will also assume the planning duties typical of this classification when they are not working on special event coordination. These duties include California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) analysis of projects in and around the park to ensure that all projects are compliant and compatible with recreational use and resource protection measures. This position may be required to work some weekends and holidays. .

Training and Development Assignments may be considered.

This position is designated as not telework eligible.

The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.

Employees who work to support State Vehicle Recreation Areas (SVRA) utilize the OHV Trust Fund and are responsible for appropriate use of the fund and to help ensure program transparency, accountability, and compliance (TAC) goals are met.

Working Conditions

Working conditions include both indoor and outdoor work environments. Daily use of personal computer and a variety of software applications. Work includes use of phones and other office machines and equipment.  May work weekends and/or holidays during special events.
