Job Title: Heavy Haul Truck Driver / Field Laborer
Position Summary:
The Heavy Haul Truck Driver / Field Laborer is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of drilling equipment, materials, and oversized loads to and from job sites. In addition to driving duties, this role requires a high level of flexibility and a willingness to actively support field operations as a laborer. This includes assisting drilling crews, handling equipment, and performing general job site tasks as needed.
This is a dual-role position requiring a team-oriented mindset and the ability to transition seamlessly between driving and fieldwork responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Safely operate heavy haul trucks to transport drilling rigs, casing, tooling, and support equipment
• Load, unload, and secure drilling equipment in compliance with DOT and company safety standards
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks, trailers, and hauling equipment
• Plan and execute routes based on oversize/overweight permits and job site access conditions
• Coordinate with dispatch, drill crews, and project managers to ensure timely deliveries
• Maintain accurate driver logs, permits, and delivery documentation
Field & Labor Support Duties:
• Assist drill crews with mobilization and demobilization of equipment
• Support setup and breakdown of drilling rigs and job sites
• Handle materials such as casing, rods, mud, and tooling
• Perform general labor tasks including digging, lifting, cleaning, and organizing equipment
• Follow direction from drillers and foremen to support daily operations
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of trucks, tools, and job sites
Qualifications:
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required
• Minimum of 2–5 years of heavy haul and/or equipment transport experience preferred
• Experience hauling drilling or construction equipment strongly preferred
• Knowledge of DOT regulations, load securement, and oversize permitting
• Ability to pass drug, alcohol, and background screenings
• Clean driving record

• Strong work ethic and willingness to perform both driving and manual labor duties
• Flexible and adaptable to changing job site conditions and schedules
• Ability to take direction and work effectively as part of a crew
• Strong awareness of safety practices in both transportation and field environments
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to perform strenuous physical labor for extended periods
• Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of 50+ lbs
• Ability to climb on and off equipment and trailers
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather and site conditions
Work Environment:
• Combination of long-haul and local driving with active job site participation
• Exposure to construction and drilling site conditions including mud, dust, noise, and heavy equipment
• Irregular hours, including early mornings, long days, and occasional weekends
